To celebrate the opening of the Solar Tsunamis – Parawhenua Kōmaru exhibition, Tūhura Otago Museum and Tūranga are pleased to present a public talk by professional astrophotographer Mike White.
The public talk will be a two-part presentation with a focus on the Southern Lights. Mike will first share his personal journey through photos and tales of photographing the aurora over the past decade. Following a brief interval, Mike will then present a “how to” session on photographing the Aurora Australis. This session covers an introduction to apps useful to tracking space weather as well as basic camera settings (including for smartphones) and photography techniques for capturing your own images.
Event date: Tuesday 2 September, 5.30-8pm
Venue: Tautoru / TSB Space, Hapori | Community, Level 1, Tūranga
Cost: Free, registration required
