For the last couple of years, we have identified services on the usual service pattern, and highlighted these as opportunities for the volunteers involved at St Laurence's Church to come together for praise and worship.
The service will follow the usual pattern (according to the style on that date) but will include prayers for volunteers and the opportunity for fellowship with other volunteers.
As a guide:
- Monday 6.15pm, a simple said service following 'Open Table' community meal
- Tuesday 12.15pm, a traditional said service in the Lady Chapel, a 'communion for the community'
- Thursday 12.15pm, includes an opportunity for prayers for healing, Lady Chapel
- Friday 12.15pm, Book of Common Prayer said service in the Lady Chapel
- Saturday 5pm, A family Eucharist with contemporary music
- Sunday 9am, A shorter, spoken Family Eucharist service
- Sunday 11am, Sung Eucharist (a sung service with choir and organ; incense is used on Festivals).
*Until Easter 2026, services on Saturday at 5pm and Sunday at 9am will take place at Buckshaw Primary School (Astley Village) and on Sunday at 11am, at St Mary's Church, Chorley*
This is whilst redevelopment works take place at St Laurence's Church.
All weekday services will take place inside The Lady Chapel, St Laurence's Church
All volunteers are welcome to these services, and members of the community too! Come and worship alongside our volunteers
