For the destroyer is coming against her, against Babylon,And her mighty men will be captured,Their bows are shattered;For the Lord is a God of recompense,He will fully repay.
JEHOVAH GMOLAH: THE GOD OF RECOMPENSE.
God of recompense is a name of God that reflects one of His characteristics: He repays everyone. Good and evil are both recompensed appropriately by Him. In this case, His retribution is toward His enemies, particularly Babylon. He also rewards those who serve Him faithfully. Paul talks about this characteristic of God and how it cuts across the old racial lines between Jews and Gentiles. In Romans 2:6-10 he quotes a combination of Psalm 62:12 and Proverbs 24:12 saying that God will reward our deeds appropriately regardless of our background.
Declaration: The Lord shall repay you for every loss you have suffered, for every tear of sorrow you shade, there shall be tears of joy! A reward is coming your way!
