Explore a magical winter wonderland while getting to know Tommy the Gnome (psst—that’s a type of mythical creature from Scandinavian folklore) during this very special winter edition of the Small Things Matter Guided Tour.
Small exchanges between everyday people create the foundation for strong societies. From humble beginnings, the Iron Range grew into a special community where immigrant families worked together to survive. Just like so many of our ancestors, Tommy the Gnome came to the Iron Range to build a better life for himself—but he is alone in an unfamiliar place, and he needs help. As kids hike through Heritage Park, they’ll help Tommy the Gnome find friends, and together, they will build a full, thriving home.
🧣 Come prepared for an hour-long outdoor winter recreation experience. Kiddos and adults alike are encouraged to wear warm hats, coats, gloves, and snow pants along with sturdy, insulated snow boots.
