The 15 original compositions on Modern Poetry (see playlist below) were recorded by Chico engineer/musician Dan Greenfield (who has recorded Donald Beaman, Viking Skate Country as well his own band, West by Swan), with an all-acoustic crew of Nor-Cal folk, bluegrass, indie-rock, punk and musical theater players (including members of the October Coalition, Viking Skate Country and Sons of Jefferson): Jason Cassidy (vocals, guitar, ukulele, baritone ukulele, fiddle); Jeff Coleman (fiddle, mandolin, vocals); Ken Smith (ukulele, baritone ukulele, musical saw, vocals); Henry Crook Bird (vocals, stand-up bass, ukulele); Robert Smith (drums, percussion, baritone ukulele, vocals); Mike Strishak (guitar, banjo, ukulele, fiddle, vocals); Skylar Gibbons (vocals, guitar); Dan Greenfield (guitar, ukulele, vocals); Dave Greenfield (cello, banjo, vocals); Ashiah Bird (vocals); Connie Cassidy (vocals); Bryce Goldstein (accordion, vocals); Conrad Nystrom (bass); Michael Ennis (harmonica, vocals), Todd Steinberg (bass), Nate Daly (percussion), Tim Applebee (whistle).
