Winter Bachata Class

LET'S END 2025 DANCING! Join us for our *FREE Bachata dance class beginning November 18 through December 30th. Classes are held on varied Tuesday's & Thursday's. Please re-visit this link prior to attending each class to ensure class is being held.

This class is designed to introduce and strengthen the fundamentals of bachata dancing with a partner. In this class, you will learn the essential steps, timing, and techniques that will bring you confidence every time you step on the dance floor. Whether you're completely new to dancing or have some experience in bachata or other dance styles, our class is designed to improve your overall experience in dance, be fun, welcoming, and accessible to anyone.

Each class begins with a warm-up, then partner work. You’ll learn dance etiquette, mindfulness in dance, as well as the spontaneous, improvisational movements guided by musical cues while enhancing dance communication with your partner.

- Doors open at 7pm | Dance Class is from 7:30p-8:30p

- Post class social time (optional) from 8:30p-9p

- You must register here to attend

- Students may bring a dance partner, although not required. (Please register your dance partner)

- Class are 100% FREE to Military Veterans, Active Military, First responders, their dance partners, Gold Star families and pre approved volunteer dance partners. (To register as a dance partner please see below)

Come comfortable and ready to dance. We don't have a specific dress code. But we recommend that you wear clothing that does not restrict movement. Feel free to wear something you feel confident in. Avoid backless sandals and rubber sole shoes that might cause gripping on the floor, preventing a natural slide or pivots, making it hard to turn. Leather or hard rubber/plastic sole shoes work well. Partners are not required, as we rotate partners throughout class, although rotating partners is not required.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO VOLUNTEER FOR AS A DANCE PARTNER (Non military or 1st Resp)

If you don't qualify for a free class as a military or 1st Responder. You may still have an opportunity to register for this free class as a volunteer dance partner. But after registering, please ensure you've been contacted by a WBW member to confirm your acceptance into the class. You can also TEXT the following info to 773-580-5220 (Your Name, the date you wish to volunteer, your gender m/f, and if you have any dance experience (none is required to be a volunteer). Someone will reach out within a few days.

Info: You can arrive as early as 7pm. The lounge and dance floor will be open to warm up, socialize, decompress or simply hang out.

Info: Dance instruction begins at 7:30pm and typically ends at 8:30pm (may go over a few minutes)

Info: Stay after class to socialize, go over recently learned dance moves, play pool or simply to cool down. This portion of the program is optional.
