“So I Have This Idea For a Book” From First Idea to First Draft with Anne

Anne (she/her) is an Albany Park author who writes women’s fiction and sapphic romance set in Chicago. Her novel, Beyond Any Experience, pub. 2022, NineStar Press.

A story idea is one thing. Putting that idea into concrete words, page after page, is another world entirely. In this workshop designed for adults, Anne will discuss her process in moving from her rough initial scenes written in longhand to a functional first draft on her computer. She will outline approaches for carving out writing time, generating ideas, developing characters, and structuring a story.

While Anne’s focus is on writing fiction, she’s happy to have writers of any type in the workshop. Participants will receive a signed copy of Anne’s novel as part of the event. Please note that her book is a sapphic romance and does contain explicit material meant for 18+ audiences.
