The Dawson
730 West Grand Avenue, Chicago, United States
The Dawson will host a special evening that unites art, music, lowriders, and cultura on its iconic River West patio. This one-night-only showcase pairs two cultural forces: legendary photographer Estevan Oriol and the lowrider community that has inspired much of his work.
Oriol, renowned for his raw black-and-white photography, has spent over three decades documenting Los Angeles street life, hip-hop, and Chicano culture. His portraits of icons like Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and Kobe Bryant, alongside his vivid depictions of lowrider and street communities, have cemented his status as one of the most influential cultural photographers of our time.
Just as vital to the night is the Lowrider Showcase, where a curated lineup of classic lowriders will transform The Dawson’s patio into an open-air gallery. Guests will experience the artistry, history, and pride of these rolling works of art, set against music and vendors celebrating Latin heritage and community connection.
