Palomar at the CheckOut

ACM’s resident ensemble Palomar presents a far-reaching program for piano trio that explores shifting mental and emotional states. From the brutality of World War II to the glittering energy of post-war nightlife, from the Hindu concept of prana to the quiet radiance of the natural world, these works evoke a rich spectrum of feeling and reflection.
Featuring music by Joan Tower, Dmitri Shostakovich, Kaija Saariaho, Reena Esmail, Paul Schoenfield, and Astor Piazzolla, this program is a kaleidoscopic journey through joy, darkness, breath, and light — performed by three of Chicago’s most experienced classical musicians.
