About the event

Oct. 21 - Where does Illinois' vaccine efforts go from here?
Health News Illinois is assembling a panel of experts to learn more about what's next for Illinois' vaccine policy

About this Event

Vaccine policy has been in upheaval in recent months. Public health leaders are making sense of the changes in federal policy on who can receive vaccines and whether certain shots should be made available at all. Meanwhile, states like Illinois have started to partner together to develop their own vaccine policies and ensure access for residents.

Health News Illinois is assembling a panel of experts to make sense of the uncertainty around vaccine policy and learn what's next ahead of the coming fall respiratory season.

Panelists:

  • Dr. Arti Barnes, Chief Medical Officer, Illinois Department of Public Health
  • Jeffery Erdman, Associate Executive Director of Programs, Illinois Public Health Association
  • Jennie Pinkwater, Executive Director, Illinois Chapter - American Academy of Pediatrics

Additional panelists to be named soon.

PARKING: Parking is available at 333 S Clinton Street, which is connected to the building. Metered street parking is available but limited, and SpotHero reservations are also an option in the surrounding area.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: Connected to Union Station via an enclosed pedway at BMO - 320 South Canal - has direct access to the Metra train concourse and Amtrak trains. The LoopLink CTA bus lines are steps away from the Union Station Transit Center, which is directly north of the building.

Upon arrival at the building, you’ll find an elevator bank to the far left of the security desk that goes directly to the 2nd floor. Once you exit on the 2nd floor, the check-in area and event space will be visible.

Registration and networking begins at 8:30 a.m. The panel discussion begins at 9 a.m.
