The Kim-Park Program for the Study of the Book is pleased to present Marking The Dispossessed with Danielle Aubert
In this colloquium presentation, Danielle Aubert will discuss her Library of The Dispossessed and how she compiled reader's marks and examined the lived experience of one hundred used copies of The Dispossessed , a 1974 science fiction novel by Ursula Le Guin. The project resulted in her 2015 artist book, Marking the Dispossessed from Passenger Books. The book takes the form of polyphonic group readings (during which each reader is reading from a different copy of the Library), a book of readers’ marks, and an instrumental interpretation of the markings, composed by Jason Treuting of So Percussion and Mobius Percussion.
