This February, Bluetopia honors Black History Month with Soultopia! A night dedicated to soul music and the rich Black American musical traditions that continue to shape the blues dance community we love.
We start off the night with an Intro Blues Lesson at 7:00 PM
Taught by the amazing Will Nichols and Tim McCord!
Followed by Dj'd Soul Music starting at 8:00 PM–Midnight
With our fabulous DJs: Trevor Williams, Brandy Smith, and Ruby Rambeau!
Soul music emerged in the United States in the late 1950s and early 1960s, rooted in African American gospel, traditional blues, and jazz. Deeply connected to African American cultural identity, it reflects love, lived experience, and social truth.
Join us as we honor that legacy the way we know best — together on the dance floor. 💛
New to Bluetopia? Here’s what the night looks like:
💙 A welcoming, low-pressure space for both brand-new and longtime dancers
💙 A friendly intro lesson at 7 PM — no partner or experience needed
💙 Social dancing from 8 PM–Midnight, where you can practice, explore, or simply soak in the music
💙 Kind vibes, supportive community, and plenty of room to learn and connect
We invite you to celebrate Black musical heritage with intention, joy, and respect!
