Join us for a powerful Black History Month experience honoring the brilliance, legacy, and impact of Black scientists—past and present—through faith, fine art, and community.
Artist Art Jackson presents a curated collection of original portraiture celebrating pioneering and contemporary African-American scientists. This annual exhibition blends worship, education, and visual storytelling, offering an experience that is both reverent and inspiring.

For years, Art Jackson has used portraiture to document Black excellence—creating visual records of brilliance that educate, inspire, and affirm future generations. His annual Black History exhibitions serve as both cultural archives and community offerings.

Info: The worship service will honor the lives, contributions, and enduring legacy of Black scientists whose work has advanced knowledge, innovation, and community well-being across generations. Through prayer, reflection, and acknowledgment, the service affirms scientific excellence as a God-given gift and recognizes the often-overlooked role of Black scholars in shaping medicine, technology, engineering, and discovery. This sacred gathering offers gratitude for past pioneers, celebrates present-day leaders, and inspires future generations to pursue truth, learning, and service with courage and faith.
Info: Arthur "Art" Jackson is a retired Cook County Sheriff's Police 1st Deputy Chief. After enjoying a 32 year career, he decided to follow some of his passions, which include travel, cooking, hosting parties and painting. In the last 10 years, Art has taken his painting hobby to a new level. Using acrylic paints, bold and bright colors, and depth of textures, Art has brought a variety of landscapes, stills, historical events and human subjects delightfully alive.
