Every September, devotees of Santa Maria Incoronata assemble on Alexander Street in Chicago's Chinatown to honor the Blessed Mother. They gather in the same way their ancestors have for the past century, standing outside the church in sweltering heat or incessant rain showers to catch a glimpse of the life-sized statue of the Madonna as she is processed through the parish streets.
FEAST MASS & PROCESSION
Join us as we celebrate the 128th annual feast with an 11 a.m. Mass at Santa Maria Incoronata church/St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta parish, 218 W Alexander Street, Chicago, IL followed by a procession. For those members who would like to participate in the procession but are unable to walk its distance, we will have bus transportation along our entire route.
FEAST PARKING
Free offsite parking and bus transportation to church is available at the Old Neighborhood Italian American Club, 3031 S. Shields Ave., Chicago. Starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 11:30 a.m., we will have regular shuttles running from the club to Santa Maria Incoronata church/St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta parish. Following the Blessed Mother's arrival back at church after the procession and benediction at 4 p.m., the bus will again begin transporting club members and guests from church to the Italian American Club.
FEAST DONATION
The generous financial support of our members is crucial in offsetting the costs associated with our feast and other events throughout the year. We kindly request members looking to make an "in memoriam" donation for our 2025 festivities to do so by September 1, 2025 by sending a check made out to "Club Maria S.S. Incoronata" to Fran Higgins, 5900 W. 63rd Place, Chicago, IL 60638. Please include your prayer intentions. Donations will be placed on the altar before Mass.
