Rooted in Cheyenne Spring Planting applications open on March 1st! Cheyenne city homeowners can apply for up to 2 trees per planting at $50 per tree. Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. We highly encourage applying as early as possible!
At this planting event, we will be planting our 2,000th tree! You won’t want to miss this planting event for the history books!

Rooted & Branching Out is our program that focuses on a specific number of trees in neighborhoods that have low tree canopy and need extra help! These trees come at no additional cost to the homeowners who apply and are approved for trees within the area, thanks to funding provided by Microsoft.
If you live east of Logan, west of Ridge, south of Pershing, and north of Nationway and are interested in receiving free trees, please follow the steps below.
Do you live outside of the R&BO neighborhoods, are still interested in trees, and are concerned that you can’t afford to purchase them right now? Thanks to the support of our donors, sponsors, and community members, we are able to plant trees at no cost for qualifying homeowners. Simply, complete the steps below and include your annual household income and household size.
Application steps:
1. On March 1st, go to www.RootedinCheyenne.com/apply and complete the application.
2. We will begin to process applications on a first-come, first-served basis.
3. Upon initial review, we will visit your residence and assess your suggested planting location and surrounding areas to ensure that it is suitable for the trees you have requested.
4. Once approved, you will be emailed a personalized link to select and purchase your trees.
5. Two weeks prior to planting, we will return to your residence to mark the placement of your trees.
6. We will then call 811, and all utilities in the planting area will be marked.
7. Once we receive positive confirmation from all utility companies, we will revisit your residence to confirm the planting location and ensure there are no conflicts with utilities.
8. On planting day, May 16th, a group of volunteers will come and plant your tree(s) for you and discuss how to care for your trees to ensure survivability!
