Wine Details:
2023 Sauvignon Blanc, McGinley Vineyard - Santa Ynez Valley
2023 gave us Sauvignon Blanc with immense personality and zesty cut. The aromatics are profuse with citrus blossoms, fresh mint, kiwi, and lemon. The fruit is strong and textured without compromising the flowery and herbal qualities we love from McGinley. Think MINERAL FLORAL RACY. Barrel fermented in neutral French oak, malolactic fermentation blocked. Clima Frio - Cool Climate
2023 Chardonnay, Clima Frio - Santa Barbara
Coming from two vineyards in the Western fringes of Santa Barbara County, this Chardonnay speaks to the nearby ocean’s influence. Apricot, tangerine peel, hazelnut and lightly honeyed notes build into the deep, resonant finish. The balance is terrific and the wine closes with delicate spice, leesy richness and refreshing stony minerality. Think MINERAL BLOSSOMY ELEGANT. Barrel fermented in French oak, 6% new.
2023 Pinot Noir, Clima Frio - Santa Barbara
This bottling cobbles together fruit grown in the Santa Maria Valley and just West of the Sta. Rita Hills. Hints of sweet red cherry, pipe tobacco, cedar, mint, and dried flowers. This is an especially savory style. Think PERFUMED SAVORY DELICATE. Native yeast fermentation with 11% whole clusters.
2022 Pinot Noir, Fe Ciega Discipulo - Santa Rita Hills
It’s very bright and savoury, revealing strawberry fruit, leather, sandalwood, rose petals, lilac and cherry blossoms. Light to medium bodied. Firm, elongated, ripe tannins are gentle yet present. Elegant fruit, spice, tobacco, underbrush, smoky clove, and rooibos tea round out a complete and satisfying Pinot Noir from this icon vineyard. Fermented with native yeast using 12% whole-clusters.
2021 Syrah, Roll Ranch Vineyard - Ventura County
Cool years like 2021 allow the vineyard to pack deeper-hued flavors into the grape, and this bottling impresses with its knockout fragrance of blueberries, black cherry, and all sorts of botanical complexity. It offers a beguiling mix of intense dark blue/purplish fruit: dark cherries and red plums, intermingled with strong savory, floral and earthy notes: pepper, bouquet garni, and hints of violets. Think BRAWNY FLORAL LAVISH. 2% Viognier. 84% whole-cluster native fermentation, pumped over.
