Introduction to Hand Sewing
A Calm, Skill-Building Day of Traditional Stitching
Spend a relaxed and immersive day learning the foundations of hand sewing, using traditional techniques that will give you the confidence to sew almost anything — slowly, beautifully, and by hand.
This workshop is designed for complete beginners, as well as those who may already sew but want to deepen their understanding of proper hand-sewn construction. You’ll be guided step by step in a small, supportive group, with plenty of time to practice and ask questions.
During the day, you’ll create:
• A hand-stitched sampler, learning essential stitches and techniques
• A linen drawstring bag, applying those stitches in a practical project
By the end of the class, you won’t just leave with finished pieces — you’ll leave with the skills and confidence to hand sew garments, repairs, and personal projects independently.
This is a slow, thoughtful workshop focused on quality, tradition, and enjoyment, rather than speed or perfection.
