Dine-out at Red Robin (Greenbrier) on National Rescue Dog Day

National Rescue Dog Day is coming up on Tuesday, May 20! It will be a day to celebrate dogs adopted from municipal animal shelters and rescue organizations, and to promote the adoption of the millions of dogs waiting to find their happily fur-ever after. You can help us (Friends of the Animals - Greater Hampton Roads) recognize the day by dining out (or picking up takeout) from the Greenbrier location (1024 Eden Way North, Chesapeake, VA 23320) of Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, anytime from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., on May 20 (just follow the instructions on the flyer to make sure your order is included in Red Robin's calculations). Red Robin will donate 20% of your food receipt proceeds to us, which funds will us help shelter dogs (and other shelter animals). [We use the funds to pay for/sponsor heartworm treatments and other medical expenses for municipal shelter animals so that their medical conditions are not barriers to being adopted or transferred to a rescue; to sponsor adoption fees; to provide requested supplies to municipal animal shelters and municipal-contract animal shelters in the Greater Hampton Roads region; and to help with other animal care needs in the region.]

Of course, if you are thinking of adding a furry canine member to your family, the greatest way to recognize National Rescue Dog Day is to visit the animal shelters in your area to meet, and/or inquire of your local rescues about, the many wonderful dogs available for adoption.
