Upcycle with Embroidery

Are favourite clothes looking tired, are your denim jeans fading away and does your skirt look lifeless? Well, here is the workshop for you!

Let’s brighten up your clothes and adorn them with new stitches, creating stencils onto water soluble paper then stitching onto the prints with embroidery threads. Join Mel to learn basic stitches to brighten up your clothes. You could choose a floral pattern for the cuff of a jumper, a mandala design or even a minature insect!

Alternatively, your clothes could be cut up, printed and stitched on and then ‘patchworked’ into a cushion, bag or any other decorative item.

This is a great way to create unique clothes that are individual to you with sustainability in mind!

In this session you will:

Stencil designs onto water soluble paper, applying to the garment and stitching using simple embroidery stitches to change your clothes from Drab to Fab!

What do I need to bring?

Bring any item of clothing that you would like to upcycle. This might be a jersey style jumper, to a pair of jeans or a jacket.

This class is a first step into our sewing and embroidery classes and an ideal project for crafters looking to create unique and individual clothing.
