This month we are heading to Jeskyns Community Woodland to explore the trails around Cobham and Ranscombe.
This beautiful 10 mile route combines open free flowing trails, with beautiful views over the Medway valley and peaceful woodlands. It also takes in parts of our Triple Trail 100km / 50km race route that is being held on Saturday 20th September.
As always, this is a super inclusive community event for anyone looking to meet friendly likeminded runners, explore new routes or have some company on a training run.
What to Expect
* A guided, group-paced trail run, ensuring no one is left behind
* A mix of woodland paths, open views and hills
* Support from experienced trail runners in a fun and inclusive environment.
This run is suitable for all abilities and paces. We are committed to ensuring everyone enjoys the experience, with a focus on community, not competition.
The Route
Starting from the Jeskyns community woodland car park, the route takes you through the country park until you eventually reach the pretty village of Cobham. From here you make your way through the village on a brief road section before reaching Cobham woods. After a short while following beautiful open trails, you reach the Cobham Mausoleum. If you’re lucky you may spot the highland cattle often grazing in the woods. From here the route enters Ranscombe nature reserve which offers some of the best trails in the area. Making our way through Ranscombe over rolling hills we then return to Cobham, before finishing back in Jeskyns.
The trails are extremely well maintained, with wide open sections and some short rolling hills.
The route will not be marked, so runners are encouraged to download the GPX file to their watch or the OS Maps App with the route uploaded. We will have a small number of guide runners across the various paces, so if you do not have access to the route we would recommend you stay close to one of these.
Facilities
There is a paid car park at Jeskyns. We would highly recommend you car share where possible to avoid any disruption at the site.
Jeskyn has both toilets and a cafe at the car park and there will be the chance to get a drink and socialise after the run if you have time.
