Let the beauty of music warm your spirit this December at "Light of Peace," a special Christmas concert at Park Royal United Church in Charlottetown on Sunday, December 14, 7:00 pm.
Led by our Music Director, Andrea Ellis, the evening will feature the Park Royal United Church Choir joined by special guest musicians: fiddler Allison Ling Giggey, flutist Sam Lantz, bodhrán player Machaela Osowski, and pianist Sharon Cameron.
At the heart of the program is "Light of Peace," a stunning choral suite by composer Karen Marrolli. This Celtic-inspired work weaves together familiar Irish and Scottish folk melodies, beloved carol tunes, and newly written texts that speak to hope, compassion, and peace. The piece reimagines the Nativity story through a lens of social justice and community, inviting listeners to embrace the message of light that transcends the season. You will have your toes tapping to jigs and reals, while having goosebumps from beautiful harmonies!
Alongside this centerpiece, the concert will include other uplifting selections from the choir and ensembles — and perhaps even a joyful sing-along to send you into the holidays with warmth and harmony. After the concert, you’re invited to stay for a cup of apple cider and friendly conversation!
This free event is made possible by The United Church of Canada Foundation and the Centennial Granting Fund, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the United Church of Canada.
Wrap yourself in gorgeous Christmas music, share in the joy of song, and experience the "Light of Peace."
