11am: Maple Syrup Tasting, Production and Tree Conversation.
Noon: 2nd Annual Ceremonial 'first' maple tree tapping of the state's maple syrup season.


11am: Maple Syrup Tasting and Conversation. Hear the story of maple syrup and production in West Virginia.
Paul Ronk of Ronk Family Maple Farm will be able to answer all of your questions on Maple Syrup Production. Whether you want to tap a single backyard tree or have several on your property. Ronk Family Maple Farm in Lincoln Country produces several infused syrups and other maple syrup products. Samples will be available.
Dawn Lemle from Capitol Conservation District will be on hand to share how the District serves the residents of Kanawha County by providing unique programming to urban producers, as well as traditional farming operations in Kanawha County, WV.
Christopher Higgins from the Mary Price Ratrie Arboretum at Spring Hill will share information about the arboretum and how the Arboretum's digital map can help in your tree identification skills.

Information should be available for 'sugar shack' openings around West Virginia during the early Spring where you can visit Maple Syrup Association members on their farms around the State.

The event will take place in a heated workshop located under the red brick Office Administration Building. Go down the steps to the right of the building.
Noon: 2nd Annual Ceremonial 'first' maple tree tapping of the state's maple syrup season. Collect outside the Office Administration Building for a short walk to the site of a Sugar Maple Tree. This will be a short walk, but you will be able to drive if you suffer from mobility issues.
