Discover the many moths of Chard Reservoir, and a multitude of flying insects besides, in a 2- part, free to attend event at the start of the summer holidays.
Part 1: Setting the trap
Join us on the evening of Monday the 28th of July, where we'll be setting up a moth trap, create your very own leaf-printed moth art, and sweep-netting the meadows for other creepy crawlies. If any early- rising bats also decide to join us, we'll pick them up on our bat detectors. Monday the 28th July, 19:00-21:30. Some activities will end before 21:30 as it gets too dark.
Part 2: Checking the trap
On the following morning, join us to see the magnificent moths we'll have caught, and another chance to sweep net the meadows and create your very own leaf-printed moth art to take home with you. Tuesday 29th July, 9:30-11:00.
Please note: Moths will not be harmed in this event. Regarding donations, please bring cash. All children must be supervised by an adult. No booking for either part of this event is required. We'll be asking for a suggest donation of the leaf printed moth activity- bring cash. Parking- Oaklands Carpark, Oaklands Avenue TA20 1HU. There are no public toilets at this event.
