Ferne's Open Day!
It’s free for all visitors! Never visited Ferne before or haven't been for a while? Join us on the 23rd of August to explore all we have to offer and be inspired to want to make a difference and support our work with animals in need.
A regular at Ferne? Pop along to say hello and enjoy the sanctuary.
Behind-the-scenes guided tour: Led by our Animal Care & Land Manager Nikki, this special tour offers a deep insight into our work at Ferne.
Meet our Animal Care Team, learn how we manage the animals and their individual needs, and hear the stories of some of our residents firsthand. (Approx. 2.5 hours, please note tickets are limited). Book your spot here:

Pop-up charity shop: Meet our Retail Operations Manager and Retail Area Manager, who will be running a pop-up charity shop at the sanctuary. Discover hidden gems and enjoy a bargain! We have 7 charity shops in local towns: Chard, Crewkerne, Ilminster, Yeovil, Dorchester, Sidmouth, and Wellington.
Creative Corner: Our arts and crafts room will be open for our younger visitors to participate in animal-themed arts and crafts.
Access to the sanctuary: Take a leisurely walk around the sanctuary at your own pace. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Blackdown Hills from our viewing platform, explore the Willow Walk to learn about the 5 animal freedoms, stop by Blakeborough Gazebo, check out our bug hotels, make a wish at the George Miller wishing well, and play some tunes in our Sensory Garden.
The Hub: Our new event space is available to book for meetings and events. Any bookings on the day will receive a 20% discount on room hire! Learn about all the ways to support the sanctuary, including becoming a Friend of Ferne, sponsoring an animal, playing our weekly lottery, volunteering, gifts in wills, corporate sponsorship, or fundraising for us.
We would love to see you on the day! Entry is via The Harman Centre located at the bottom left of the main car park.
