About the event

Auditions for Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors at Chapin Theatre
Auditions for CTC's upcoming production of "Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors", directed by George Dinsmore, will be held Sunday, July 20 and Monday, July 21 at 7:30pm both evenings. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script and some movement. The show runs October 3 - 19, 2025. Please provide all conflicts beginning August 4. No conflicts after September 19 Callbacks will be by invitation only, if necessary.

Rehearsals will probably begin the first week of August and will be 4 or 5 days a week for most actors. A rehearsal schedule will be determined based on conflicts once the show is cast.

ACTOR 1
- JONATHAN HARKER (m) - RP British dialect - Prim and proper and obsessive-compulsive real estate agent, frightened of his own shadow, but he loosens up A LOT
- LORD CAVENDISH (m) - Scottish dialect - Lucy's Scottish dolt suitor
- LORD WORTHINGTON (m) - RP British dialect - Lucy's posh, British, and petulant suitor
- LORD HAVEMERCY (m) - Texas accent - Lucy's arrogant suitor from Memphis a la Yosemite Sam
- BOSUN (m/f) - Irish dialect - scurvy seaman
- GRAVEDIGGER (m/f) - Cockney dialect - drunk gravedigger with a secret


ACTOR 2
- DR. WALLACE WESTFELDT (m) - RP British dialect - blowhard; self-important misogynist given to proclamations and posturing
- RENFIELD (m) - Cockney dialect and salivary issues - Insane mental patient who lives to serve and loves to eat bugs
- CAPTAIN (m/f) - Sea Captain dialect - salty sea captain


ACTOR 3
- LUCY WESTFELDT (f) - RP British dialect - Brilliant, plucky earth scientist, full of energy and the spirit of adventure
- KITTY RUTHERFORD (f) - Cockney dialect and salivary issues - Think Mrs. Lovett (Sweeney Todd) but servile and easily distracted.
- DRIVER (m/f) - Eastern European or Russian dialect - Think Borat meets Boris and Natasha.


ACTOR 4
- MINA WESTFELDT (f) - RP British dialect - lives in Lucy’s shadow and is desperate for attention
- DR. VAN HELSING (f) - German dialect a la Mel Brooks - brilliant and sturdy German vampire-hunter


ACTOR 5
- COUNT DRACULA (m) - Commanding European dialect - hugely sexy, magnetically handsome, rock star presence with a killer body, he is a narcissist whose greatest love is himself
