... come on our to Stan Lewis' Reveler Residency ... and enjoy SOME of the MANY songs that RARELY make it into a Mebanesville set ... ;-) ... penned--usually severally--by Sherry Lea & Larry Vellani ... they MIGHT throw in a couple of the new Si Kahn tunes that they're also producing ...
Sherry Lea, Graham, NC
As a founding member and multi-instrumentalist with the versatile roots, rhythm, and world roll group Mebanesville, Sherry White Lea has sung in styles ranging from old time and roots, to country and blues, jazz and bossa, rock and pop, foreign and domestic—and performs on both of Mebanesville’s two albums (“Chiaroscuro” and “Town & Country”), as well as on two music anthologies produced by Elon University (“Christmas From Alamance County” and “Patchwork”).
Her latest album with Mebanesville, “Town and Country,” is described by Times News (Burlington, NC) long-time cultural critic, Charity Apple, as, “… a typical Mebanesville performance … something ancient, something new, something borrowed, something brewed—but all thoroughly Mebanesville In the rendering.” NC Poet Laureate, Jaki Shelton Green, describes Mebanesville’s album as “… a potent mixed brew of cultural entanglements that remind us over and over again how music tenderly invites us across both geographical and spiritual borders. Drink these songs slowly and fully as they open our hearts and arms wider!”
Sherry loves a great song and has even managed to write a few of her own. Some of her tunes can be found at
