Dear Devotees,
Hindu Vedic Temple of Virginia is conducting a 3-day Maha Sudarshana Yagnam celebration. As part of this celebration, we are conducting 6 different homams/pujas, each having a specific purpose and benefit to the karta of the homam. Kindly go through the descriptions of the six sacred pujas/homams below and Sign-up for the ones you wish to take part in.
Note: Pooja Thalis may be provided based on the type of puja. To help the organizers manage the event effectively and ensure adequate space for all devotees, we respectfully request that one member from each family represent and participate in the puja ritual.
Pooja Description:
Sudarshana Yantram or Bhu-Varaha Yantram
Sponsor by signing up for the Yantram on any of the 3 dates (July 25,26,27) or visit the temple starting today to sponsor the Yantram by donating $151.
Samoohika Vigna Nivarana Homam (Fri, 7/25, 10:30 AM):
Performed to remove obstacles and ensure success in any important venture. In this homam, we pray to the Lord to remove obstacles.
Samoohika Sahasranama Archana Poorvaka Sri Lakshmi Puja (Fri, 7/25, 5 PM)
Performed to invoke and pray to Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, prosperity, and well-being. It is performed to invite her divine blessings for abundance in both material and spiritual life.
Samoohika Lakshmi Hayagreeva Puja (Sat, 7/26, 10:30 AM)
Performed to worship Lord Hayagreeva and Goddess Lakshmi. This puja is performed by those who seek blessings of wisdom, knowledge, wealth, and spiritual upliftment. This puja is beneficial for Students' educational upliftment.
Samoohika Asta Lakshmi Dhanvanthari Puja (Sat, 7/26, 5 PM)
This is a group worship dedicated to the eight forms of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Dhanvantari, performed to seek blessings for health, wealth, well-being, and divine protection.
Samoohika Sudarshana Yantra Puja (Sun, 7/27, 10:30 AM)
Performed as a worship of the Sudarshana Yantra, representing Lord Sudarshana—the divine discus (chakra) of Lord Vishnu—performed for protection, purification, and spiritual upliftment. This puja invokes Lord Sudarshana’s powerful energy to remove negative forces, illness, evil influences, and obstacles from the lives of all participants.

Samoohika Kubera Lakshmi Kumkumarchana (Sun, 7/27, 5 PM)
This is a ritual dedicated to Lord Kubera (the treasurer of the gods) and Goddess Lakshmi (goddess of wealth), where we perform kumkumarchana with deep devotion to invoke abundance, prosperity, and divine grace.
