Mark your calendars! On September 14th we will join Let’s Ride, Illinois – a statewide celebration of the joy, freedom, and sense of community that riding a bicycle brings to people of all ages. This fun, casual event features “slow roll” community bike rides that are free and open to all. Come and join your neighbors for a relaxed ride and a fresh look at your community from the comfort of your bicycle.
We will meet at BakeLab @ Logic around 1:45pm and bike along bike lanes and shared use trails like the Roby Trail and the
Boulware Trail. We will bike around Robeson Park, bike by Morrisey Park and around Mattis Park. We will then return to BakeLab where we can have a treat and socialize.
We recommend wearing a helmet and following the rules of the road which you can find here:
https://rideillinois.org/safety/bike-laws/. We will have bright safety vests for anyone who would like to borrow one for the ride courtesy of C-U Safe Routes to School Project. Children are welcome with a parent or guardian!
This is the proposed route for the ride. We may need to alter it slightly based on how many riders we attend. One of the trails is pretty narrow and might be challenging for some folks.
