About the event

Kaler Lecture Series: Observing Earth From Space
On the first Friday of the month at 7 pm, the Staerkel Planetarium becomes a forum for a local scientist to discuss his or her specialties. All audiences are welcome! The series was named for UIUC astronomer Jim Kaler, who gave his time to speak in our series every year for over 20 years.

Professor Ana Barros, from the UI Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, will present "Observing Earth from Space: What It Takes to Design and Plan a Satellite Mission".

Tickets are $2. They can be purchased at the door or at tickets.parkland.edu. Friends of the Staerkel Planetarium members are admitted for free.
