We welcome back Kate from Bramble Bakes, who offers relaxed small-group baking workshops locally, that will get you making your own #delicious, #nutritious, #gut-friendly #bread.

She has gracefully agreed to come and demonstrate the fundamentals of making sourdough, as well as share her ever-growing knowledge, enabling us to make more delicious, nutritious loaves of real bread.
We will be looking at:
* the outline of the making and baking process. What is sourdough and why is it so good for us?
* Starters – what are they and how can we use them?
* Leaven – what it is, looks like, and when it is ready to use.
* Dough – looking at dough through the stages of a bulk fermentation
* Tasting of course, including a few different breads, as well as crackers, granola, and cookies (which utilise discard - left over starter)
Recipes will be provided
As well as looking at a basic white sourdough with all its benefits, Kate will explain how adding more wholegrain and fermented elements can increase the nutritional benefits of sourdough.
Adding more diverse ingredients to the loaf to help us reach the Zoe 30 a week plant foods guideline. One of the ways in which Kate does this is by milling her own flour. She will bring her own Mill, which she uses to make her own unique flour blends. Kate will explain more about the health benefits this brings to sourdough.
