A Girl Called Owl returns to Gauteng, this time running at Die Centurion Teater from the 18th til the 20th of September
The play centres around two girls living in a small town in the Overberg - a tender yet unflinching South African coming of age story that spotlights innocence lost, creativity stifled, and love misunderstood.
Larissa Crafford-Lazarus delivers a powerhouse performance, switching seamlessly between Owl, Kay, and a host of other vivid characters they encounter on their journey of growing up, lashing out and getting into trouble.
Acclaimed critic Robyn Sassen describes Crafford-Lazarus’s performance:
“She’s bold, she’s feisty, she’s convincing and she takes ownership of the work with a potency and a sense of vulnerability that will bring tears to your throat as you watch her.”
