Turkey Hunting Competition – April 11, 2026

Test your skills in our one-day turkey hunting competition scored using the NWTF system (weight, beard length, and spur length). Hunters will check in their birds at the official weigh-in station at the end of the day.

Competition Overview

The TC Duck Club Butterball Bash Turkey Hunting Competition is an exciting, team-based turkey hunting competition, designed for hunters to showcase their skills, strategy, and ethical hunting practices. Each team consists of two hunters, working together to call, locate, and harvest turkeys while adhering to conservation and fair-chase principles. All bird submissions must be harvested on April 11, 2026 during “legal hunting hours.”

Every hunter is not required to enter the “Big Bird” contest; however, if you wish to participate in the “Big Bird” portion of the contest you must pay the $200.00 team entry fee, and the $50.00 “Big Bird” fee per hunter electing to participate. In the event someone chooses to hunt solo, he or she will be allowed to do so; while knowingly being at a voluntary disadvantage. All purchases made are non refundable.

•Weigh In Times: April 11th, 2026. Weigh in beginning at 7am. All birds and contestants must be present by 8pm.Teams arriving after 8pm will not be scored. (Please bring birds as soon as harvested to help alleviate the congestion of teams waiting to be scored)

•Food and live music weigh in for hunters and paying guests.

Entry Fee & Registration

• Entry Fee: $200 per team

• Extra Entry Fee: Big Bird $50 per hunter

• Entry Fee Includes: Entry to hunt tournament and meal with live music

• Registration Deadline: Saturday April 4th

• Guest Tickets: $40 Per Person (everyone pre register and be prepared to show ID at gate.)

• How to Register: Teams must register through the QR code and pay through the secure link.

Competition Rules & Guidelines

Team Structure

• Two hunters per team.

• Teams do not have to stay together during the hunt.

• Each team is responsible for its own gear, calls, legal firearms, licenses, and property to hunt on.

Hunting Rules- Allow Federal and State regulations must be strictly followed. Any hunter(s) failing to follow all guidelines will be disqualified and forfeit any and all entry fees.

• Legal Hunting Hours

•When turkey is harvested, you are to send in a picture and video of you with the bird and expected weigh-in arrival time. Any failure to do so will result in the bird not being scored. Send your video to (256)557-2997 immediately after harvest.

• Weapons Allowed: Shotguns (with legal turkey loads) and bows (compound, recurve, or crossbows).

• Bag Limit: Must follow state regulations. Each team may enter up to two birds (one bird per hunter)

• Legal Birds: Bearded Turkeys only.

• Calling Only: No baiting or illegal hunting methods allowed. Decoys are permitted during the contest unless the state in which the contestants choose to hunt does not allow decoys.

• Fair Chase Ethics: No penned, trapped, or illegally taken birds.

• Tie Breaker: will be a coin flip.

Check-in & Weigh-in

• All teams must check in their harvest during the weigh-in times at the designated weigh-in station. (Jake’s on the Lake)

• Birds must be tagged legally

• TC Duck Club will select judges to conduct the scoring of “ALL” birds.

Safety & Ethics

• Hunter Safety: All participants must have a valid hunting license and turkey tags.

• Respect Private Property: No trespassing; only hunt in designated areas or with landowner permission.

• Sportsmanship: Any unsportsmanlike conduct, including violating laws or competition rules, will result in disqualification.

WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY

I, the undersigned participant, acknowledge that participation in hunting, shooting, and related outdoor activities at TC Duck Club involves inherent risks, including but not limited to, accidental injury, firearm discharge, wildlife encounters, environmental hazards, and other unforeseen dangers.

I understand and agree that TC Duck Club, its owners, partners, members, agents, employees, volunteers, and affiliated entities/sponsors (hereinafter referred to as “the Released Parties”) are not responsible for any injury, death, property damage, or other losses that may occur as a result of my participation in any activities at the club.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK

I voluntarily assume all risks associated with participating in activities at TC Duck Club. I acknowledge that I am responsible for my own safety and agree to follow all club, state, and federal rules, regulations, and safety guidelines.

WAIVER OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I hereby release, discharge, and hold harmless TC Duck Club and the Released Parties from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, or legal liability arising from or related to my participation in activities at the club, including but not limited to negligence on the part of the Released Parties.

INDEMNIFICATION

I agree to indemnify and hold harmless TC Duck Club and the Released Parties from any claims, damages, or liabilities brought by third parties arising from my actions while at the club.

MEDICAL TREATMENT AUTHORIZATION

In the event of an injury, I authorize TC Duck Club to obtain emergency medical treatment on my behalf if necessary. I understand that I am financially responsible for any medical expenses incurred.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RULES AND REGULATIONS

I agree to abide by all rules and regulations set forth by TC Duck Club. I understand that failure to follow these rules may result in removal from the property without refund or recourse.
