Dear Parents,
We are delighted to invite you to participate in our upcoming Child & Baby Dedication, which will take place during the morning service on Sunday, September 28th. This is a meaningful moment in the life of your family and our church, and we are honored to be part of this significant step in your journey as Christian parents.
The Child & Baby Dedication is a public expression of your desire to raise your child in a Christ-centered home and make a commitment before God and the church community to do so. It is not a baptism or confirmation of faith for your child, but rather a declaration of your intent to guide your child toward a growing relationship with Jesus as they mature.
There is a strong biblical foundation for dedicating children to the Lord. In 1 Samuel 1:27-28, Hannah presented her son Samuel to the Lord, saying, 'I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the Lord.' Similarly, in Luke 2:22, Mary and Joseph brought baby Jesus to the temple to present Him before God. These moments reflect the importance of recognizing that children are a gift from God and that it is our responsibility as parents and a church family to support their spiritual development.
Practically, the dedication provides an opportunity for our church to partner with you as you commit to raising your child according to God's Word. It also allows the church family to affirm their role in helping your child grow in faith through support, teaching, and prayer. This shared commitment strengthens our community and emphasizes the value we place on nurturing the next generation in the love and truth of Christ.
