Grange Co‑op invites you to a our next gardening class:
“Deer Resistant and Drought-Tolerant Plants”
Experienced gardeners know the honest answer to the question, “What plants are deer‑proof?” is simple: there’s no such thing. Given enough hunger, deer will sample almost anything. In this class, we’ll explore plants that are more deer resistant in our region and the traits—such as texture, scent, or taste—that make them less appealing to browse, helping gardeners feel confident trying new options.
We’ll also cover drought‑tolerant and xeriscape plants well suited to our area, many of which overlap with deer‑resistant choices. While some have specific soil or watering needs, their reduced water use and local adaptability can help create a more sustainable, resilient garden.
