Deactivation Tools to Survive the Apocalypse

Everything’s on fire, but you don't have to burn out. Join us for a 90-minute monthly "lab" where we move out of the intellectual brain and into the sensing body. This isn't a lecture or a self-help seminar; it is a space for real-time practice in staying human, grounded, and connected.

Most of us are used to workshops that demand our participation. This one honors our autonomy. Our core agreement is that choosing is more important than doing. You get the full value of this lab whether you join every exercise, choose to witness from the side, or simply sit and breathe. You are never forced to perform.

We spend our 1.5 hours together moving through a clear, repeatable structure:

• The Container: We open with robust group agreements that prioritize consent, confidentiality, and "no-fixing."
• Practice 1: The Somatic Axis. A movement-based experiment to help you sharpen your internal compass. You’ll practice tuning into physical signals to locate where your body actually feels comfortable.
• Practice 2: Listening Turns. A radical exercise in presence. You’ll take turns as "Speaker" and "Listener"—experiencing the power of being witnessed without the pressure to be understood or "solved."

• Your nervous system feels stuck in fight, flight, or freeze.
• You are "socially exhausted" but crave low-stakes community connection.
• You have a healthy suspicion of "toxic positivity" and want practical, grit-filled tools for liberation.
• You want to practice saying "no" and "not right now" in a supportive environment.

• When: First Sunday of every month | 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM
• Where: 64 Main St., Centerbrook, CT
• Cost: Donation-based (Suggested $25). No one turned away for lack of funds.
• Safety: Same-day COVID testing required (home tests are fine!). Masks optional.

What to Bring: Just yourself. Wear clothes you can move comfortably in.
