TOURNAMENT RULES
1. Solo or team of no more than 2 anglers. All team members must be in and remain in the same boat.
2. All teams must launch from The Spalding access. There will be a brief participant meeting prior to the opening of the tournament on Saturday and again on Sunday. There will be a “drive through” live well check prior to the release of each boat to the tournament waters.
3. A team cannot bring in or weigh more than 7 Crappie and those must be alive when entering the weigh in line. Any team presenting more than 7 Crappie will be disqualified. Once you have entered the weigh in line, your fish will be counted. (7 fish) and verified dead or alive. Dead fish will be removed, and you may continue to the scales for your official weigh in.Once your fish have been verified alive, and entered on the weigh in voucher, you will then be allowed to weigh in those fish even if one or more die before reaching the scales.The Tournament committee has sole responsibility for the declaration of dead or alive Crappie.
4. Fish weighed must be at least 9 inches long- official measure will be the grip and check.
5. Live and artificial bait may be used.
6. Fish must be caught on a pole and line. NO SNAGGING or POOLING OF FISH between teams. There is no limit to the number of poles or baits per person.
7. Teams may start fishing (line in water) anywhere on Mark Twain Lake beginning at 7:00 am both Saturday and Sunday. Lines are to be out of the water no later than 3:00 pm Saturday and 12:00 pm on Sunday. Any team found not in compliance with the time allotment for fishing, will be disqualified. NO EXCEPTIONS! All team members must be present at time of weigh in and during fishing tournament hours. All teams must start and stop fishing at the same time.
8. Big Fish Contest: Only one big fish entry per boat. The team must designate a big fish entry at time of weigh in. Prize money amounts to be determined based on entries for the tournament. Teams must fish both days to be considered for ANY prize money. The entry for this tournament will be $200.00 per boat for the 2 days and paying 1 spot for every 5 boat entries.
9. All State boating and fishing regulations must be followed.
10. Fishing license, boating license and launching fees are the responsibility of each angler.
11. In the event of a tie, big fish will determine the winner.
12. No one can be hired or compensated in any way to fish with you or mark your spots for you prior to the tournament at any time. NO GUIDES FROM MTL ARE ALLOWED TO FISH THIS TOURNAMENT, NO EXCEPTIONS!
13. Pre-Fishing is allowed and participants must have lines out of the water no later than 3:00 pm on Friday.
14. Sportsmanship, courtesy, safety and conservation are expected from each angler. There is no fishing within 50 feet of any boat unless you have permission from that boat or water conditions void this rule.
15. Grand Prize Winner will be responsible for travel arrangements to and from Grenada MS. Grand Prize Winner is responsible for booking dates accordingly with the Red Barn, Patrick Stone Fishing Guide Services and understands that there may be dates that are “blacked out” due to the availability of either entity.
16. Second Grand Prize Winner will be responsible for travel arrangements to and from The Country Inn Resort of MO as well as booking dates accordingly with C.I.R , Wilkee’s Crappie Guide Service and understands that there may be dates “blacked out” due to availability of either entity.
17. Third place drawing winner for a complete boat detail courtesy of Workhorse Restorations, Shady Acres RV and Storage will be responsible for booking the service and understands that scheduling will be on a first come, first served basis and the above entities will not be responsible for damage,lost, misplaced or stolen items. It is the responsibility of the boat owner to have valuables removed from the vessel as well as any goods in storage compartments, NO EXCEPTIONS! Winner furthermore understands that once the service has been completed the owner of the vessel has 24 hours to pick up the vessel unless PRIOR arrangements have been made. Should the vessel NOT be retrieved within said time frame a storage fee will be assessed at a rate of $50 per day that the vessel remains on the premises and neither above named entity will be held responsible for the vessel once notification of completion has been given to the owner of the vessel.
18. Participants understand that in the event of inclement weather, the tournament will continue as long as the conditions are not deemed SEVERE by the tournament committee. This means as long as there is no lightning or extreme wind we will commence. In the event of severe weather once the tournament has started, it will be the responsibility of the participants to remain safe and use their own judgement to remain so.
