WILLOW TALK a presentation & willow sale 🌿🌿🌿
Come on out to Green Door Folk School for an evening presentation on growing willow from instructor Beth Bridgeman. Learn about the practice of growing willow. According to Beth, it’s easy and well worth the effort. Willow can be used for basketry, stream bank remediation, living structures, fencing, garden trellises, etc. and is fabulous for the bees, as the catkins produce pollen in very early spring when not much is available for them. You will also have an opportunity to purchase a variety of willow cuttings in various colors and sizes.
Beth Bridgeman is a willow basketmaker and traditional skills instructor residing in Southwest Ohio. A former professor of sustainable practice at Antioch College and before that an Extension Educator with The Ohio State University, Beth is passionate about somatic learning ( “the Great Remembering”), reskilling, and connecting community, culture and craft.
