Ideal Comedy Showcase: Mel Mackey

The Lucky Cat and the Ideal are proud to present a comedy showcase featuring a lineup of local, regional, and national talent the last Thursday of each month!

February’s headliner is Mel Mackey! Mel is a Des Moines-based standup comedian, improviser, and burlesque performer. When she's not filling up her calendar irresponsibly, she's reading your tarot and making you believe in yourself. Featured in shows and comedy festivals across the midwest, she was named Iowa's Funniest Person in 2025. She'll either make you laugh or she'll have you texting your mom to see what time you were born.
