Jazz in the Library

This interactive learning experience uniquely combines music, visual art, and American history. Learn about jazz music’s important contributors and its connection to visual art from a professional musician with PDX Jazz. Discover how the visual art associated with jazz plays a significant role in mirroring and shaping American culture. Create an original jazz album cover, interpreting the music, its emotion, and its message through visual expression. Student artwork is exhibited annually at a community event held in various locations each year. Art materials provided. Ages 6-11.

Registration required. Adults must attend with children under the age of 8. Please include the ages of children when you register.
