Hitting Program
Train with Montclair State’s All-Time Hits Leader, Coach Craig Conway and his staff
Coach Conway brings 13 years of college coaching experience and a lifetime of hitting expertise to this one-of-a-kind Hitting Program. Designed to build powerful, consistent hitters through repetition and individualized instruction, this program focuses on teaching the right habits early—and reinforcing them with purpose.
Hitting Program Includes:
Tee Work – Develop balance, mechanics, and correct swing path
Front Flips – Improve hand-eye coordination and timing
Mirror Drills – Visual feedback to enhance body mechanics
Heavy Bag Training – Reinforce strong contact points and power
Cage Work – Live BP with instruction to handle all pitch types and locations
Hitters will be coached on a different skill each week, with tailored feedback and correction to help them grow.
Defense Program
“Defense wins championships”—and it starts with the fundamentals.
Baseball is unique: the defense controls the ball. That’s why a solid defensive foundation is essential for every young player. Our Defense Program focuses on developing complete fielders—not just catching fly balls or scooping grounders, but learning to move with balance, intent, and purpose.
Program Focus Areas:
Proper approach to the ball (infield & outfield)
Mastering footwork and body mechanics
Throwing with increased velocity and carry
Repetition-based drills to build balance and control
Athletic development to enhance overall gameplay

About The Complex: Home to the NJ Tribe Baseball Teams, Baseball's Finest also hosts many towns recreation and travel baseball and softball programs. Accommodating all ages and skill levels, our 5,000 sq ft indoor turf facility has two 60 retractable cages and a pitching machine. Nets separate the entire facility in half or split into tunnels, allowing for multiple athletes to practice safety at once. The well-lit warehouse space without pillars makes it an excellent area for teamwork, larger group practices, clinics and defensive work.
