It’s Christmas Eve, and young Noelle is bubbling with excitement. In her cozy bedroom, Maman brings her a beautifully wrapped present-a surprise meant for Christmas morning. But Noelle, filled with anticipation, pleads to open it early. With a tender smile, Maman relents. Inside the box, Noelle discovers a magnificent gift: a treasured collection of ballets by the legendary Marius Petipa. Her eyes sparkle as she lifts the book, its pages gleaming with rich illustrations and timeless stories.
To help her settle down for the night, Maman sits beside her and reads a few of the enchanting tales. Together, they journey through the nobility of Raymonda, the playful charm of Coppélia, the dazzling bravura of Don Quixote , the graceful beauty of Swan Lake, the festive whimsy of Harlequinade, the mystery of The Pharaoh’s Daughter, the firelit mystique of La Bayadère, the swashbuckling world of Le Corsaire and the magic of The Nutcracker.
Soon, Noelle’s eyes grow heavy. Maman gently tucks her under the blankets, places the beloved new book beside her, and quietly slips out of the room.
As Noelle drifts into slumber, the air begins to shimmer. The pages of the book flutter open and one by one, the characters step out. They beckon Noelle into their world, and in her dreams, she dances through realms of classical beauty and magic.
When morning dawns, Noelle awakens to a sight beyond imagination: the characters from her dreams remain, filling her room with color, movement, and life. Bursting with excitement, she runs to find Maman and leads her back by the hand. Gathered before them are the living embodiments of Petipa’s masterpieces, waving at them.
Together, they all join in a jubilant, celebratory finale-a magical dance where stories leap from the page, dreams blend with reality, and Noelle’s Christmas morning becomes one she will treasure forever.
