CAVE JUNCTION, OR — Healthy U is excited to announce the return of the Winter Magic Festival on Saturday, December 13th, from 1–5pm. Families are invited to drop in anytime for an afternoon of hands-on holiday crafting, seasonal treats, and joyful community connection — all while supporting accessible early childhood education in the Illinois Valley.
The Winter Magic Festival focuses on helping young children participate in the giving spirit of the holiday season. Families can create a variety of handmade gifts and decorations at multiple craft stations, including nature-based ornaments made with dried orange slices, jute twine, and bay leaves; paper chain garlands; and rubber-stamped holiday cards.
The event will also feature:
• A seasonal family photo booth
• Face painting
• A cozy preschool play area for young children
• Snacks and beverages, including the crowd favorite — hot apple cider hand-pressed by preschool parents from locally harvested apples
Admission is offered on a sliding scale of $5–15 per person. Children under 3 attend for free, and no one is turned away for lack of funds.
All proceeds support All Around Kids Community Preschool, a sliding-scale early childhood program serving local families. Due to the ongoing shortage of state funding and the ERDC (Employment Related Day Care) waitlist crisis, many families cannot access needed childcare subsidies, leaving programs like All Around Kids underfunded.
Healthy U invites the entire community to join in creating handcrafted gifts, connecting with neighbors, and supporting an essential resource for local families.
