Watch as the world you think is real unravels to reveal the little devils lurking around us; the big picture, with its many little details, it’s things unseen, combine to create a world of mystery; Magic as a way of seeing, is a way of being in the world. Open your eyes to the hidden world of truth … and of lies. Some discoveries will make you laugh and some might just scare you (a little). Or both. Finding the truth within the lies, Samelson tricks the devil, against its will, into revealing a magnificent world. But you’ll want to look deep, for The Devil’s in The Details!
Recently appearing on Penn & Teller’s Fool Us, the pair praised Peter Samelson as “one of the greatest living magicians.” Samelson, master magician and off-Broadway star, literally wrote the book on Theatrical Magic. Co-founder of New York City’s longest running off-Broadway magic show Monday Night Magic and frequent performer at Speakeasy Magick, one of NY’s hottest new shows at the McKittrick Hotel, Peter has been hailed as New York’s most distinguished illusionist, entertainer, and philosopher.
A recent recipient of a Merlin Award for Lifetime Achievement, and christened “the soft-spoken conceptualist of sorcery” by the New York Times, Peter has distinguished himself not only as a magician, but as an artist. He has performed atop the Great Wall of China, for Mexican workers and Grand Prix drivers, Princess Stephanie of Monaco, the jet-set of Paris and the fishermen mending their nets on the beaches of Cartagena.
Peter also designs for TV, film and theater. He created magic for Sam Mendes productions at BAM and the Old Vic (London) and recently for two Broadway shows, "Leap of Faith" and "Harvey
. He has also created and starred in three critically acclaimed Off-Broadway shows; "The Magician", "PaperWork", and
Radnevsky’s Real Magic".
