The Gathering with local author Dorene Strebing

Retired teacher Dorene Strebing is our guest at The Gathering next month! She has written an adorable book series and will share a book with us. She has visited our library a couple times already and I can assure you that all ages have enjoyed listening to her read her books! Her main character is a monarch butterfly and she will also talk about the life cycle of butterflies. We will decorate some wooden butterflies for a craft. If the weather is good we will play outside too!
The theme of her latest book is as follows: Melvin learns how genuine kindness and empathy towards others can create friendships of immeasurable value- what a great fit for our group!
The Gathering is a social time for adults with intellectual disabilities and a family member or caregiver. It’s an opportunity to socialize, create, play and learn together.
