Join the Friends of Haddon Wood for our annual Apple Day - a free, family-friendly celebration of nature, community, and Somerset's apple heritage.
This is a day for everyone to enjoy our beautiful woodland, learn about its future, and take part in a host of traditional autumnal activities.
What's On:
Fresh Apple Pressing: Bring your own apples to add to the juice for donation!
The Apple Olympics: Test your skills with fun and games for all ages, from apple stacking to the apple and spoon race!
Guided Nature Walk at 3pm: Discover the wildlife and history of Haddon Wood with our knowledgeable guide Greg.
Live Music: Sit back and enjoy live music throughout the afternoon.
Children's Activities: Enjoy crafts, face painting, and a drawing competition.
Apple Bake-Off: Enter your best apple cake into our competition! Try them out and vote if your not a baker!
Local Stalls: Browse crafts from locals artists and makers
Raffle: Win fantastic prizes, with all proceeds supporting the wood.
This event is first and foremost a community celebration. Any funds raised will go directly towards the upkeep and future projects in Haddon Wood, ensuring its protection for years to come.
Entry is FREE and all are welcome.
Logistics:
Parking is limited, so please carshare or walk if you can.
Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome.
The site has accessible paths.
Refreshments, including tea, coffee, cake, and apple juice, will be available to purchase.
And our local pub The Ally Inn just down the road will have a BBQ on the go from Slow Farming if you get really hungry!
