Karate & Kung Fu Workshop

On Saturday we will explore the similarities and differences between our styles of movement, concepts of balance and rules of engagement for sparring or play. Whether you come from a wushu background and you are interested in power or you come from the karate side and could improve your ability to flow, then you will be both challenged and rewarded for your efforts.

Saturday Evening we invite you to stay late or stay over.

The ladies at BKD have been talking about having a special girls only event. It's been my experience as the host of 2 decades worth of karate sleep overs, that friend groups form and hang out naturally at our house!

With that in mind, our Karate & Kung Fu weekend will also include a Saturday evening Resiliency training led by me at or around 6:30pm. Our space is nothing if not SAFE. Therefore this optional training will be open to all genders for an open conversation about the topics that matter to you - our martial arts family. Please feel welcome to respond to this email with your thoughts. (There is no fee or membership requirement to attend.)

Sunday will be dedicated to weapons training. You are welcome to bring over your balance and positioning from Saturday, or jump in for the day. We will explore the mechanics of various weapons, introduce forms and try out applying what we've learned with partners. It's gonna be wicked fun!
