Come experience an enchanting and educational day learning about fall mushrooms of the Pacific Northwest with your kids in tow!

We will spend time developing a well-rounded understanding of fungi, their structure, function in the environment and how to responsibly forage with kids. Our focus will be on all varieties of mushrooms. This is a beginner and family-friendly course, engaging the kids in the learning will be a priority.

This event is a foray, meaning we will learn about any fall mushrooms we come across, not one particular species alone. However, there will be an emphasis on the identification of any edible mushrooms we come across that day. Ultimately education is the goal, not filling baskets with edibles. The deeper understanding of mushrooms and fungi we have as a whole will in the end, create better foragers of us.

This course will meet 30 minutes north of Carson, Washington, within the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, directions given upon registration (read your entire registration letter).

Thank you to the Forest Service for allowing me permission to run my educational programs within the GPNF.

Requirements:

• For this class, folks must be willing and able to walk on and off trail, we may occasionally walk through brush off trial. Parents/guardians must be willing to carry young children who need assistance.
• Class will happen rain or shine, so you must be willing and prepared to spend our time in the rain.
• You will also be required to obtain an online mushroom permit for the adults in attendance and bring the printed permit with you to class, link for online permit sent in registration confirmation.
• One ticket per person in your family group, space is limited.
• Parents/Guardians must come with the understanding that ultimately they are in charge of their child’s safety and comfort. If at any time someone feels they need to take a break or leave early you are free to do so. I do not mind crying or other common interruptions from children while I teach these family classes, I have children of my own and am also an elementary educator so my expereince allows me to teach through basic inturrptions with no worries.

Course taught by Rachel Zoller, known for her online presence under the business name "Yellow Elanor" (yellowelanor.com). She is a Myco-Educator, teaching mushroom foraging workshops and lectures throughout the Pacific Northwest as well as creating educational mushroom content online.

Class tickets go live August 3rd at 6:00pm, no password will be needed then.

However, there are two ways to get early access.

1. Folks registered on Patreon receive an early access password week prior to the general public.
2. Folks on my newsletter email list (sign up via my website YellowElanor.com) get the password two hours before the general public.

Tickets will sell out quickly! Often in a matter of minutes or hours for premium dates.
