Come watch history in action and listen to the compelling story of the Carson City Mint. This Saturday, Coin Press No. 1 is minting the Nevada State Capitol Sesquicentennial Commemorative Medallion celebrating the 150th anniversary of the historic State Capitol building in Carson City. Featuring the iconic Capitol building on the obverse and Coin Press No. 1 with the famous CC mint mark on the reverse, this half-ounce medallion is minted from .999 fine silver, encased in a protective air-tight capsule and displayed in decorative matting. This particular medallion is also part of a limited run of 2,000 and its packaging is individually numbered. Get your finished medallion in the Museum Store or purchase a voucher for a silver planchet and watch it be struck on Coin Press No. 1 with your own eyes! Planchet sales begin at 11 a.m.
