2nd "Cornhole Under the Lights" at Centennial Park! 2 Tourneys, Advanced & Backyard. Let's GO!!

2 Cornhole Tournaments 'Under the Lights'! Advanced & Backyard Divisions play at the same time so everyone will have a chance this year! RV Camping is allowed, so don't be afraid to roll up for a night of F-U-N! Bring your chairs. Food and drink will be available from the Park n Rec concession. No outside food/drink allowed. Bring your bags, but if you don't have any...no worries! Extra top shelf bags will be available to check out for free!

This tourney helps to benefit the Carson City youth for sports scholarships! That said, rumor has it that extra cash will be added to the pot plus hopefully some neato-keeno raffle prizes! If you or your company or someone you know wants to throw some in to sweeten the pot, or you have some sexy merch for raffles, it serves to increase the amount of throwers [and $$$] not just for the players but for a great cause, AND, it's a great advertising opportunity as well...something your bookkeeper always enjoys at tax time!

Sign in and warm up for both Divisions is between 6-7pm; Bags fly [or possibly a kick-off air mail competition] at 7pm. 5 games of fun cornhole using top notch equipment AND in a beautiful top notch venue is guaranteed!! There will be a knockout competition at halftime, and who knows, we may even start out with an air mail competition as just mentioned?!? 100% CASH payouts will be 50/30/20 to the top 3 winners in each Division...after a 40% donation to the Carson City Parks and Rec. All entry fees are in cash only and paid at sign-in on tournament evening.

We will play until the winners emerge! Who knows, we might keep on playing after that...September evenings are known for being purrrfect in Carson City, so why not enjoy them with fun people?!


ADVANCED TOURNEY DETAILS:

BYOP, but, the total team PPR can NOT exceed 15.5 on the day of the tourney at sign-in! No exceptions.
Entry Fee: $80/team
3 rounds to determine seating in double-elimination bracket

BACKYARD TOURNEY DETAILS:

NOTE: If you have an established Points Per Round (PPR) average, it must be below a 6.50 to play in the Backyard Division. Again, no exceptions. However, anyone can pair up and play in the Advanced Division as long as your combined team PPR is under 15.50 when signing in on tournament day!

If you don't have a PPR average, don't be intimidated. Everyone will have a chance in the Backyard Division!

Format for Backyard is Switcholio, so no need to find or bring a partner! In this format, you and a random (believe me, we have some random players, moi included!) player will play against 2 other Scoreholio-chosen partners. This process repeats with different partners each game for 3 games in the round robin. Your wins and points will be recorded. Pairing for play in the $ double-elimination brackets will be the top finisher in the rounds paired with the middle finisher; then the 2nd place finisher in the rounds is paired with the middle finisher in the rounds minus 1 player, etc. OR, the Cornhole Fates might throw the 'Dreaded Dice' depending on their M-O-O-d, and then pairing could be top with bottom, 2nd in rounds with 2nd from bottom, etc.

Everyone has a chance with this format and we are hoping to get LOTS of new throwers out to give the sport a look and try. It's a great way to meet new people while having about as much legal fun as $20 can buy and to support a great cause!!! In fact, every new player that registers and plays will get 1 free entry ticket into our (Sierra Nevada Cornhole) $10 Thursday night league at The Carson Mall so they can try that out too!!

For new players, please check out and download the free app Scoreholio on your phone. It's a powerful sports app for any sport, cornhole included. Once you select 'cornhole', and set a radius of say 25 miles, it will pick up every upcoming tourney within that radius, including this one! You can then pre-register for the BACKYARD tourney on Scoreholio. It will make it easier at sign-in time on tournament day. Payment is cash only at sign-in on 9/20.
