Sharon Dempsey and Hannah King in conversation

Join crime writers Sharon Dempsey and Hannah King as they chat about their new crime novels and writing careers. There will be time for a Q and A and opportunity to get books signed.

After the Party is Sharon Dempsey’s fourth crime novel. She has previously published Little Bird (Bloodhound, 2017), Who Took Eden Mulligan? (Harper Collins Avon, 2021), The Midnight Killing (Harper Collins Avon, 2022) and two novellas. She graduated with a creative writing doctorate from Queen’s University in 2023. Sharon has a background in journalism and health writing and has written for a variety of publications and newspapers, including the Irish Times. She also has experience facilitating creative writing classes for people affected by cancer and other health challenges. Sharon has also published three non-fiction books and has many short stories published in anthologies, literary journals, magazines and broadcast on radio.

Hannah King is an author from County Down. Her debut She and I, a novel about claustrophobic female friendship and murder, was published in 2022 by Bloomsbury Raven, with the Sunday Times calling it ‘a nifty fusion of psychological thriller and police procedural’. Her second novel The Blindspot was published in March this year, and her third book, which is intriguingly untitled, will be published in April 2026. She lives in the countryside with her husband, two dogs, and three aquariums, and works as a court transcriber in the daylight hours.
